Published on June 27, 2017
The City of Huntsville is grateful the situation at Redstone is under control and the Arsenal gates have reopened. Redstone responded swiftly to a reported danger and enacted security measures to professionally handle what could have been a threat.
“I am proud of Huntsville police officers, HEMSI, Fire & Rescue and our public safety network for their quick help in assisting our Redstone partners,” said Mayor Tommy Battle. “Our officers worked hand in hand with Team Redstone to secure facilities and monitor gates. Strong cooperation for a strong community.”
Police Chief Mark McMurray further noted that Huntsville remains one of the safest communities in the country. “HPD is always ready to respond and assist our Redstone community if needed.”
