ALDOT: Nighttime bridge inspections planned

The Alabama Department of Transportation advises motorists that ALDOT bridge inspection crews will inspect four bridges over Pinhook Creek on Governors Drive (Alabama 53) just west of Memorial Parkway (U.S. 231) on the night of Thursday, Oct. 11.

Expect single-lane closures during the inspections, which will begin about 7 p.m. if traffic and weather conditions permit.

Following the inspection of the bridges, the intersection of Governors Drive under Memorial Parkway will be closed for about one hour for roadway inspection. During that time, all traffic at the intersection will be rerouted onto the service roads. ALDOT anticipates reopening the intersection by midnight.
