Huntsville Police to assist with traffic control for the annual MLK Day Celebration parade

The Huntsville Police Department (HPD) will assist with traffic control during Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity, Inc.’s MLK Day Celebration parade on Saturday, Jan. 18.
The parade will start at noon and end around 2 p.m. HPD officers will be stationed along the parade route to ensure the safety of participants and spectators, as well as to manage traffic flow in the surrounding areas.
To facilitate staging for the parade, the intersection of Holmes Avenue and Church Street will close at 8:30 a.m. Williams and Holmes avenues, as well as Monroe, Church and Wood streets, will close at 11:30 a.m.
HPD urges drivers to exercise caution and remain patient while traveling near the parade route. Drivers should plan for potential delays and consider alternate routes to avoid the affected areas.
