Huntsville Music Office to host Quarterly Meetup Dec. 12
Published on December 8, 2023
Huntsville’s music community is invited to network with fellow musicians and stakeholders at the upcoming Huntsville Music Office Quarterly Music Meetup on Tuesday, Dec. 12.
The free networking event will run from 6-8 p.m. at The Camp at MidCity District. Concessions will be available for purchase.
Besides networking with fellow musicians, industry professionals and music lovers, attendees can connect with Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella, members of the Huntsville Music Board and other local stakeholders.
Mandrella said the Meetup would include a recap of 2023 items as well as a look into the future. Highlights include another successful run of shows at The Orion Amphitheater, Mars Music Hall and other stages inside the Von Braun Center, the Music Cities Convention in October and the announcement of a major music festival in John Hunt Park.
There’s a lot of interest and excitement around our music scene right now, and there are some really awesome things on the horizon that will help ensure we can sustain that momentum.” – Huntsville Music Officer Matt Mandrella
This year also marked the launch of the Music Ambassador Program (MAP) and participation in Make Music Day, which featured more than 50 participants. Huntsville Music Month in September brought record-breaking crowds for Jazz in the Park-Huntsville, the inaugural Launchpad Music Festival, an expanded Women in Music Week as well as other events and career development programming.
Mandrella believes 2024 will be another pivotal year for Huntsville’s music ecosystem, and hopes people attend the Quarterly Meetup to learn more about what’s happening now and the positive developments ahead.
“We’ve taken tremendous strides over the past year on our journey towards becoming an international music destination, and that’s mostly a testament to Huntsville’s talented artists, those working behind the scenes at venues and within the tourism and hospitality industries, music educators and the dedicated fans coming out to support the arts,” he said. “There’s a lot of interest and excitement around our music scene right now, and there are some really awesome things on the horizon that will help ensure we can sustain that momentum.”
