Fifty free dogs & fifty free cats to kick off fall 2017

Published on September 20, 2017

It’s official. Friday, September 22 is the first day of fall, and Huntsville Animal Services’ is celebrating by offering free dog and cat adoptions for the first 50 people adopting dogs and the first 50 people who adopt a cat at the Huntsville Animal Shelter.

This limited time adoption special starts Wednesday, September 20 and lasts through Saturday, September 30.

“We continue to be overcrowded,” Huntsville Animal Services Director Dr. Karen Sheppard says. “We strive to save every life, but without adoptions matching the number of our pet intake, we cannot continue to make this a reality.”

Residents of Huntsville can help this effort. Jump into fall weather by adopting a dog, cat, puppy or kitten into your family. The adoption fee includes vaccinations, microchip, City license, and spay or neuter. Restrictions may apply to select pets.

Huntsville Animal Services is located at 4950 Triana Boulevard in Huntsville. Hours of operation are 9 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday with the exception of Tuesday. The hours on Tuesdays are 9 am to 6 pm. Saturday hours are 9 am to 3 pm.
