D5 keeps growing

D5 grew by 394.93 acres when the City approved annexation of land at the southeast corner of I-65 and I-565.

The landowners intend to construct a planned development with multifamily and single-family housing and commercial opportunities, similar to Village of Providence.

The corridor is expected to be developed over the next two decades. The annexation makes Huntsville the 27th-largest city in the nation by land mass.
